ÃÛѨÊÓƵ seeks an interim president to serve with full powers of the office under the direction of the Board of Trustees until a full-time president is hired. Starting date is on or around January 1, 2024. The University seeks to have a full-time president identified by summer or fall of 2024 but recruitment may need to extend until summer 2025. The interim president will not be considered for the full-time position.

Candidates are asked to provide a curriculum vitae or resume and a cover letter describing their approach to leading ÃÛѨÊÓƵ through the consequential decisions ahead. These materials may be filed via email attachment to the presidential search address. Interviews for a short list of finalists will be conducted by the selection committee via Zoom. Interviewees will be asked to provide references. All candidates whose materials are submitted by Dec. 1, 2023 will be guaranteed full consideration, but recruitment will remain open until the position is filled.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience at the senior level of a university or college.
- Possession of an advanced degree, preferably terminal.
- Ability to communicate clearly both in speaking and in writing.
- Understanding of the current demographic challenges in recruiting students.
- Skill at collaboration with all university stakeholders in achieving consensus where possible.
- Ability to make decisions in the best interests of the university when a consensus fails to emerge.
- Budgetary acumen and the ability to plan for achieving an equilibrium between expenses and resources.
- Appreciation of the importance of a comprehensive curriculum that includes humanities, arts, social sciences, sciences, and professional studies.
- Appreciation of the role of athletics, music, theater, and other extracurricular activities in the lives of ÃÛѨÊÓƵ students.
- Commitment to diversity in hiring and in student recruitment.
- Ability to engage productively with alumni, friends, and donors.
- Enthusiasm for regularly engaging with students.
- Experience in working with faculty on new programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels to increase revenues and to sunset programs that are no longer achieving their goals.
