Grants are often called "gift aid" because they are free money – financial aid that does not have to be repaid.
Federal grants
Federal grants include the Federal Pell Grant, the Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), and the TEACH Grant.
These grant are awarded to eligible undergraduate students, working toward their first bachelor’s degree, who meet student eligibility criteria based upon completion of the and other school-determined eligibility criteria that ÃÛѨÊÓƵ will confirm upon enrollment.
Federal Pell Grant
The Federal Pell Grant amount depends on federal legislative funding. You will be notified on your FAFSA® Submission Summary email if you are eligible for a Federal Pell Grant.
The final amount of your Federal Pell Grant offered from ÃÛѨÊÓƵ is calculated each semester based on:
- Your Student Aid Index calculated from your FAFSA®
- Your status as a full-time or part-time student,
- Your program's Cost of Attendance.
You are not eligible to receive Federal Pell Grant from more than one college for the same period of time.
The Office of Financial Aid will utilize information from the federal government to monitor annual and maximum Federal Pell Grant eligibility.
- Annual amount must not exceed 100% of the scheduled award, however beginning with 2017-2018 academic year the annual amount must not exceed 150% of the scheduled award.
- 2024-25 Award Year: the maximum Federal Pell Grant award is $7,395 for the 2024-25 award year beginning on July 1, 2024 and ending on June 30, 2025.
- Enrollment Intensity each semester - this is a percentage value based on the number of credits a student is enrolled for during a semester. For federal student aid purposes, full-time enrollment is 12 credit hours.
- The maximum lifetime eligibility used must not exceed 600%.
The Office of Financial Aid will review the transfer student's Federal Pell Grant history to ensure that the student stays within the annual and aggregate maximum eligibility when determining award amounts per semester. The Federal Pell Grant program grants money directly from the federal government to eligible students.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
The is a need-based campus-based federal grant program.
According to government standards, ÃÛѨÊÓƵ awards this grant on a funds-available basis to students with exceptional financial need who also have a Federal Pell Grant.
TEACH Grant
The Federal Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant is available to ÃÛѨÊÓƵ education and pre-education majors. The award amount is up to $4,000* annually and is not based on financial need.
To participate in this program students are required to:
- Meet eligibility requirements by filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Meet ÃÛѨÊÓƵ's school-determined student eligibility requirements
- Adhere to an academic standard GPA of 3.25 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
- Review the TEACH Grant Application for ÃÛѨÊÓƵ form for alternate academic requirements for incoming freshman or transfer students
- Serve as a highly-qualified teacher in a designated high-need field at a low-income school for four years within eight years of completing a TEACH Grant-eligible program
- Failure to complete this teaching service will result in the TEACH Grant being converted to an Unsubsidized Federal Direct Stafford Loan with retroactive interest

- Complete the with the U.S. Department of Education each year you receive a TEACH Grant

Annual award amounts
*The statutory maximum scheduled award amount for a year is $4,000. However, Congress passed the Budget Control Act of 2011, which implemented automatic federal budget cuts, known as a “sequester.” Due to the sequester, TEACH Grant awards have been reduced.

is administered by the Oregon Office of Student Access and Completion (OSAC). OSAC operates under the Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC).
Oregon residents filing FAFSA® are automatically considered if the student lists an eligible Oregon college and meets the OSAC eligibility criteria. Oregon students not eligible to complete the should complete the .
