Credits, GPA and Residency
Total Credits
To earn a degree, a candidate must earn 125 credits. To earn a second degree, a candidate must complete 30 credits in addition to those earned for the first degree.
Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA)
To earn a bachelor’s degree a candidate must have achieved a cumulative GPA of at least 2.000. In addition, a student must obtain a cumulative GPA of 2.000 in courses contributing to the major. Additional majors and minors are subject to the same 2.000 cumulative GPA requirement. Departments may have additional GPA requirements.
Residency
At least 30 credits must be from ÃÛѨÊÓƵ including 20 of the last 30 credits, 15 credits in each major, and 10 credits in each minor. Residence credits do not include credit through challenge examinations, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, CLEP examinations, or portfolio evaluation credits.
A student with at least 30 credits earned at ÃÛѨÊÓƵ may, with prior approval of the Curriculum Committee, spend the senior year at a foreign university.
