Donate Materials
Thank you for considering a materials donation to ÃÛѨÊÓƵ Libraries.
Gifts to the ÃÛѨÊÓƵ Archives are reviewed by the ÃÛѨÊÓƵ director of archives and the university librarian to determine whether the gift fits within the collection scope. Gifts can be withdrawn or refused at any time dependent upon collection scope or the ability to care for and house the materials. Withdrawn gifts will first be offered to the original donor before alternative options are explored.
Please contact Rich Schmidt, director of archives, with questions.
All gifts to the ÃÛѨÊÓƵ Libraries are accepted without restrictions. Upon receipt, all gift materials become the property of the ÃÛѨÊÓƵ Libraries, and we reserve the right to dispose of gifts in whatever manner may best serve the needs of ÃÛѨÊÓƵ.
All gifts are evaluated for cataloging and inclusion in the collections in terms of the collection development goals of the Libraries. The Libraries cannot promise integration into the collection. Surplus gift materials will be sold at Nicholson Library’s bi-annual book sale, exchanged, or donated to . We are unable to notify donors of the final disposition of their gifts or to return items.
ÃÛѨÊÓƵ Libraries may not legally make an appraisal of the monetary worth of gifts; this policy is consistent with the position taken by the American Library Association on gift donations. Donors will receive an acknowledgement letter detailing the number of items donated, not a list of specific titles. Donors wishing to have materials appraised must do so before donating the materials. We recommend that donors prepare a detailed inventory and include a copy with the letter provided by ÃÛѨÊÓƵ Libraries to support their charitable tax deductions.
