Our faculty will help you wed your curiosity and interests to a growing set of new skills, techniques, strategies and ideas for artistic activity. A major goal of the faculty, as practicing artists and scholars, is to impart an understanding of the lifelong vitality of artistic development and practice.
The art department at a glance
ÃÛѨÊÓƵ's art department resides in the James F. Miller Fine Arts Center (MFAC) on what's known as the Arts Quad of ÃÛѨÊÓƵ. The facility offers you beautiful studios and creative workspaces.
The department offers courses in drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, digital media, woodworking, welding and ceramics. Regularly offered visual studies and art history courses cover a range of topics including modern and contemporary art, the history of animation and digital art.
Most of our courses satisfy the ÃÛѨÊÓƵ Curriculum's Creative Studies requirement, and several of the visual studies courses also satisfy the Vital Past, American Pluralisms and Global Diversity requirements.
