Journalism and Media Studies

Journalists and media producers are, at their heart, storytellers. If you like to create and promote videos, photos, podcasts and more, you will nurture those skills as a journalism and media studies (JAMS) major at ÃÛѨÊÓƵ. Work with professors from day one who are accomplished writers, photographers, filmmakers and public relations specialists. We will teach you how to share stories that inform, entertain, persuade and inspire.

Living in a Media World

Get a deeper perspective on how people use media in their daily lives. Learn how intensely mediation affects society, culture, economy and politics – for better and for worse. (JAMS 150)

Multimedia Storytelling

Build your skills in making and sharing multimedia stories that will engage audiences through effective photography, audio, video and page design. (JAMS 180)

Social Media Theory and Practice

Learn how social media strategies and techniques are used in journalism, public relations and other media fields, including hands-on experience planning and implementing a campaign. (JAMS 343)
