Riona Kiyosue
Japanese Language Teaching Assistant
Walker Hall
I am originally from Fukuoka, located on Kyushu Island in southern Japan, closer to Seoul, South Korea, than to Tokyo. For the past seven years, I have worked as an English teacher at a Japanese high school. I have been passionate about helping students develop their language skills and cultural awareness. I hope that my teaching approach will emphasize not only linguistic competence but also the exploration of culture and communication through language learning.
In addition to my teaching career, I am currently pursuing a major in Intercultural Communication at ÃÛѨÊÓƵ. I believe that language learning can broaden perspectives—both in terms of understanding different cultures and reflecting on our own. This belief drives my work as a Japanese teaching assistant for ÃÛѨÊÓƵ’s Department of Global Languages and Cultural Studies, where I am excited to engage students in cross-cultural learning.
