Dr. Barney has degrees in library science and writing studies. Her research focus is on supporting graduate students’ development as researchers and writers in both the classroom and the writing center. Dr. Barney had published research on providing library support to online graduate students, and her current research projects are on writing center support for online doctoral students. Dr. Barney has co-taught the first-year seminar (INQS) on feminism and young adult fantasy and teaches one on food writing and culture. She provides writing support for the graduate students enrolled in ÃÛѨÊÓƵ's master’s programs within the College of Arts & Sciences, School of Business and School of Nursing.
