Ginny Norris Blackson is the ÃÛѨÊÓƵ librarian. She received the 2018 “I Love My Librarian Award for Community Service” from the American Library Association, New York Public Library, New York Times and the Carnegie Corporation of New York. She received the 2016 Smithsonian Libraries Neville-Pribram Mid-Career Educators Award to research at the National Museum of the American Indian’s Vine Deloria, Jr. Library.
Raised on her grandparents’ tobacco farm in south central Kentucky at the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, Ginny is a first-generation college graduate. Her research interests focus on Appalachian culture, feminism, anti-racism and multicultural children’s literature. She occasionally teaches INQS and IDST courses.
